France test-fired its latest-generation M51.3 nuclear-capable submarine-launched ballistic missile off the coast of Brittany without a payload on Tuesday.
The launch certified the nuclear submarine Le Vigilant's ability to deploy the weapon following a major maintenance overhaul, according to the French defense ministry.
President Emmanuel Macron stated that France is stronger following the test, which comes amid heightened tensions with Russia and modernization of the country's nuclear deterrent.
