Telugu-English Dramedy 'Impure' Addresses Patriarchy and Virginity Standards

Written and produced by Varahi Mallipamula and directed by Nishanti Evani, the Telugu-English film 'Impure' arrives in theatres on October 2.

The film follows a female protagonist whose wedding is called off when her prospective in-laws discover she is not a virgin.

Set in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, the film recently won the Audience Award at the Indiewood Film Festival 2026 in Los Angeles.
