Aryna Sabalenka Eliminated by Ekaterina Alexandrova at Canadian Open

World number one Aryna Sabalenka was defeated 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-4 by 16th-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova in the fourth round of the Canadian Open in Toronto.

The match lasted nearly two and a half hours, ending with Sabalenka committing a double fault on the third match point to concede the victory.

Alexandrova advances to the quarterfinals to face Elina Svitolina, who secured her spot by defeating American eighth seed Amanda Anisimova 6-2, 6-4.
