Marathi Film 'Gondhal' Selected as India's Oscar Entry

Santosh Davakhar's Marathi film 'Gondhal' has been selected as India's official entry to the Best International Feature category for the 99th Academy Awards.

Set in rural Maharashtra, the movie centers on a traditional ritual night involving a newly-wed woman plotting a murder and escape.

The 99th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 14, 2027.
