The FYERS American Gambits won both their matches on the opening day of the 2026 Tech Mahindra Global Chess League in Bengaluru.

GM Javokhir Sindarov defeated former world champion Viswanathan Anand, while the team also secured a 10-4 victory over the PBG Alaskan Knights.

The six-team tournament continues Sunday, September 6, at 3:30 p.m. IST, featuring elite players including Magnus Carlsen and Ian Nepomniachtchi.
