Nepal Flash Flood Death Toll Reaches 623; Thousands Still Missing

Flash floods in the Nepal-Tibet border region have killed at least 623 people, with nearly 3,000 individuals reported missing as of August 29, 2026.

Rescue teams have evacuated 2,465 people, including 163 foreigners, while the Nepal Finance Minister estimates that rebuilding efforts will require $4 billion to $5 billion.
