A group of PlayStation users is launching a #PSBlackout campaign from August 23 to August 30 to protest Sony's decision to end physical disc production.
The protest, initiated by the preservation group Does It Play, encourages players to avoid logins, gameplay, and purchases on Sony platforms for seven days.
Sony previously announced that all new PlayStation games released from January 2028 will be digital-only, a policy the company maintains despite ongoing user backlash.
