Pakistan braced for protests on Sunday after negotiations between the government and jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan's party collapsed.
The talks deadlocked after the government demanded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party cancel its October 4 protest, while the party sought his transfer to a hospital.
Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry said talks failed primarily because the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government could not assure cooperation against terrorism.
