YSRCP leader Sake Sailajanath accused the Andhra Pradesh government of failing to tackle drought conditions and citing El Niño without an adequate contingency plan.
Sailajanath claimed the state recorded a 54% to 56% rainfall deficit impacting Rayalaseema crops, while paddy lands in Nellore are drying up for want of water.
He demanded full per-acre drought compensation, free crop insurance, nine hours of uninterrupted daytime power, and free fodder and tanker water for farmers.
