Prisons DIG M Somashekar was arrested on October 4, 2026, over the alleged use of a fabricated Supreme Court order that facilitated the release of a life convict in 2018.
Somashekar, who served as chief superintendent of Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in 2018, was produced before an ACMM court and remanded to five days in police custody.
Investigators have previously arrested the released convict S Shankar and former prison staffer S Srikanth, who is suspected of preparing the forged document.
