Congress Accuses Uttarakhand CM of Handing Power Project to Adani

The Congress party alleged on September 17, 2026, that the Uttarakhand government scrapped a proposed public sector thermal project and handed the 1,320 MW opportunity to Gautam Adani.

Jairam Ramesh and Pawan Khera claimed that 84 out of 86 tender conditions were rewritten to benefit Adani's Korba plant, costing the State an estimated ₹1.6 lakh crore over 25 years.

The Opposition party stated that the BJP will face accountability in the upcoming Assembly elections over the alleged creation of a monopoly.
