Karnataka Declares School Holiday in Chikkamagaluru Due to Heavy Rain

Primary schools and anganwadi centres in Sringeri, Koppa, and Balehonnur hobli of Chikkamagaluru district were ordered to close on August 1, 2026, due to heavy rainfall.

The respective taluk tahsildars issued the closure order, which applies to all government, aided, and unaided primary institutions in the affected areas.

School administrators have been instructed to conduct compensatory full-day classes on a future holiday or Saturday to make up for the lost instructional time.
