NCERT Class 9 Social Science Book Discusses Goddess-Given Swords

The new NCERT Class 9 social science textbook states that historical rulers like Chhatrapati Shivaji and Annamaraja are believed to have received swords from goddesses.

Released six months into the academic session, the book documents religious traditions in warfare and successive invasions of the Indian subcontinent since the 7th century.

NCERT chief Dinesh Saklani noted that the textbook is designed to cultivate analytical abilities and promote critical inquiry among secondary students.
