Fifty-nine-year-old Sylvester Shadap from Ri Bhoi district is preparing to appear for the Class 10 Secondary School Leaving Certificate examination in December.
Shadap is among 9,767 school dropouts registered under Meghalaya's Second Chance Learning Programme, 37 years after he left school due to financial hardship.
The joint initiative by the Meghalaya government, MBOSE, and MPOWER provides free self-study materials and 171 learning centres across the state without an upper age limit.
