WhatsApp has officially launched its bill payment feature in India, allowing users to settle electricity, gas, and water bills directly through the messaging app.
The service integrates with the Bharat Connect network, providing access to over 22,722 registered billers across the country to facilitate seamless UPI-based transactions.
This expansion marks a major push by Meta to capture a larger share of India's digital payments market, directly competing with established platforms like PhonePe and Google Pay.
