China's Commerce Ministry launched an anti-dumping investigation into imports of p-nitrotoluene from the European Union following complaints from domestic producers regarding market damage.
The chemical is widely utilized in the manufacturing of dyes, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides, with the investigation expected to conclude within 12 months.
The probe comes ahead of critical trade talks scheduled between EU trade commissioner Maros Sefcovic and Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao to address escalating trade tensions and subsidies.
