TDP-led NDA crushes YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh local polls

The TDP and its allies, the JSP and the BJP, swept the ZPTC and MPTC elections across 28 districts after a decisive victory in the Urban Local Body polls, according to State Election Commission data up to November 7, 2026.

Polling took place on November 5 for 582 ZPTCs and 7,767 MPTCs following unanimous elections for 77 ZPTCs and 2,051 MPTCs, with the TDP securing 229 ZPTCs and 4,823 MPTCs.

State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha stated that vote counting remained peaceful, while YSRCP leaders alleged counting irregularities and untimely responses from the SEC.
