Greece’s Parliament approved a bill on Friday banning social media platforms for children under 15 to address health and safety concerns.
The legislation is scheduled to enter into force on January 1, 2027, following similar legislative actions globally.
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that social media platforms have two and a half months to formulate a reliable age verification mechanism.
