Hampshire Reverses Decision to Sign Scott Kuggeleijn After Backlash

Hampshire Cricket confirmed on September 2 that New Zealand all-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn will not represent the club following widespread public backlash.

The club had initially named Kuggeleijn in its 15-member squad for the final four County Championship fixtures against Warwickshire before reversing the decision.

Kuggeleijn was previously acquitted of rape in a 2017 trial, a history that has sparked similar protests during his 2023 selection for the New Zealand Test team.
