BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the Indian women's team's refusal to accept the Asia Cup trophy from ACC chief Mohsin Naqvi was a conscious institutional decision.

The Indian women's team defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final in Dubai on Sunday but declined to receive the trophy from the Pakistani official.

Saikia stated that the stance reflects bilateral political realities and is separate from sporting commitments, with the team's focus shifting to the upcoming Asian Games.
