The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested former Andhra Pradesh minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao on August 24, 2026, in connection with an alleged multi-crore liquor transport scam.
Investigators allege that Rao and his son diverted funds from the illicit liquor operations to acquire luxury vehicles and high-end watches, with the ED currently conducting medical checks at Gandhi Hospital.
The YSRCP has condemned the arrest as an act of political vendetta, while the ED continues to trace the flow of funds linked to the transport syndicate.
