A proposed $103,265 H-1B visa fee could reduce U.S. federal receipts by $32 billion to $38 billion over a decade if filings decline by up to 38%, according to a CCIA study.
The Department of Homeland Security's proposal assumes that employers will continue filing 85,000 cap-subject petitions annually, generating $8.8 billion in yearly revenue.
The fee proposal is separate from the $100,000 payment requirement for certain H-1B workers, which President Donald Trump extended through September 21, 2027.
