Turkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia Sign Joint Defence Agreement

Turkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia signed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement on August 7, establishing a collective defence pact where an attack on one member is considered an attack on all.

The agreement mandates coordination between defence ministers, foreign ministers, and military commanders, with plans for joint exercises involving land, naval, and air forces, including unmanned systems.

Turkiye’s defence ministry stated the pact prioritises technology cooperation in artificial intelligence and electronic warfare, while remaining open to future expansion to include other nations like Egypt.
