The Chinese humanoid robot TienKung clocked a 100-metre sprint time of 9.39 seconds at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing on Saturday.
This performance surpasses the 9.58-second world record set by Usain Bolt in 2009 and marks a significant improvement from last year's winning time of 21.50 seconds.
The event features 2,056 robots from 16 countries, with Morgan Stanley projecting the global humanoid market could reach $5 trillion by 2050.
