Google Maps Adds AI-Powered Food Ordering and Conversation Features

Google has updated its Gemini-powered Ask Maps feature to allow users to order food directly from the app, with support from partners like Square and Toast.

The update enables the app to remember past conversations and search history, while also providing real-time transit updates through a new widget for buses, trains, and ferries.

Food ordering and hotel discovery features are currently rolling out in the US, while the live transit widget and personalized response capabilities are available globally.
