Karnataka police booked seven individuals, including three Pakistan-based nationals and 24-year-old Vishalkumar Vijaykumar Metre, for alleged communication with banned terrorist groups and illegal arms traffickers.
Investigators discovered WhatsApp and Instagram interactions involving Metre and Pakistan-based designated terrorist Shahzad Bhatti, alongside links to private channels featuring content prejudicial to India's sovereignty.
Bidar superintendent of police Pradeep Gunti stated that Metre was arrested on Saturday and produced before a court as authorities examine digital evidence to determine the extent of his involvement.
