Student Recounts Escape from Satya Niketan Building Collapse

An 18-year-old psychology student at Aryabhatta College narrowly escaped a building collapse in Delhi’s Satya Niketan area on September 6, 2026.

The student, who pays ₹16,000 monthly for a double-sharing room, was searching for alternative housing when the structure, which housed several shops, suddenly fell.

Following the incident, students have joined rescue efforts at the site, highlighting the precarious living conditions in the student-heavy neighborhood near Delhi University.
