Babar Azam will miss the first Test against England at Headingley, scheduled for August 19–23, after sustaining an injury during a warm-up match in Beckenham.
Salman Agha has been appointed captain for the series opener, with Pakistan currently sitting eighth in the ICC World Test Championship standings with a 22.22 PCT.
The three-Test series continues with the second match at Lord's from August 27–31, followed by the final Test at Edgbaston starting September 9.
