Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay issued a government order permitting 6 AM special shows for new Tamil films for one week following their release.
The decision reverses a three-year rule limiting theaters to four daily shows, implemented after a 2023 stampede during the release of Ajith Kumar's Thunivu.
The new rules will benefit upcoming Diwali releases including Scene and Mookuthi Amman 2, while the relaxation also extends to local festivals, public holidays, and weekends.
