The Gauhati High Court quashed the National Security Act detention of Assam land rights activist Pranab Doley on Friday.
The Assam government had invoked the NSA against Doley on July 28 following his arrest on July 12 over protests against a proposed luxury hotel near Kaziranga.
State authorities had claimed 13 cases were filed against Doley accusing him of inciting hatred and obstructing officials, while detailed court orders remained awaited.
