Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a 72-hour halt to strikes on Kyiv starting at midnight Saturday to facilitate a visit by U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
The U.S. delegation is scheduled to arrive in the Ukrainian capital on Sunday, September 6, to discuss potential pathways to end the conflict now in its fifth year.
Despite the pause, recent Russian attacks on the Dnipropetrovsk region killed five people at an industrial facility, while strikes on Kyiv and Boryspil airports occurred overnight on Friday.
