MCX gold futures for December expiry fell below the ₹1.43 lakh mark on Friday, trading down 0.99 percent at ₹1,41,181 per 10 grams.
International spot gold dropped 1 percent to $3,980.40 per ounce, hitting its lowest level since July 17 amid a second consecutive monthly decline.
Analysts attributed the sell-off to stronger-than-expected US inflation and GDP data alongside rising expectations of a December Federal Reserve rate hike.
