Ladakh-Centre Talks Resume Wednesday to Discuss Sixth Schedule Demands

Representatives from the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday for talks with the Union Home Ministry's High-Powered Committee.

The discussions, scheduled for 4 p.m. on September 9, will focus on the demand for Ladakh's inclusion in the Sixth Schedule to protect land, culture, and jobs.

The Centre previously promised a customised governance model under Article 371, while Ladakh groups are also seeking compensation for four civilians killed during protests last year.
