La Bola Negra Emerges as Early Contender for Oscars 2027

Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi's Spanish-language drama La Bola Negra won the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival, boosting its early Oscar profile.

The film previously won a shared Best Director prize at Cannes and was selected as Spain's official submission for Best International Feature Film.

Netflix acquired the film and scheduled a 47-day US theatrical run beginning October 16 prior to its December 2 streaming release.
