Prashant Kishor Leads in Bankipur Assembly Bypoll Counting

Jan Suraaj Party debutant Prashant Kishor has taken an early lead against BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha in the Bankipur Assembly by-election.

Counting began at 8 a.m. on August 3, 2026, with Kishor maintaining his lead for seven consecutive rounds as of 12:00 p.m.

The bypoll, held on July 30, saw a 34.30% voter turnout, necessitated by the resignation of BJP leader Nitin Nabin following his election to the Rajya Sabha.
