The Tamil Nadu Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, decided on Thursday to form a multi-member commission headed by a retired High Court judge to conduct a Social Justice Survey.
Energy Resources and Law Minister C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar stated that the survey will be conducted next year after the ongoing Census, with the commission to be constituted by February or March.
The Cabinet also decided to file a review petition in the Supreme Court against its recent judgment that Hindu Backward Class members cannot claim reservation benefits upon converting to Islam.
