China Evacuates One Million as Typhoon Dolphin Makes Landfall

Chinese authorities evacuated over one million residents as Typhoon Dolphin made landfall in Zhejiang province on August 10, 2026, with wind speeds reaching 150 km/h.

The storm caused the cancellation of 1,400 flights in Shanghai and prompted the relocation of 900,000 people in Wenzhou and 390,000 in Taizhou.

While no official casualties were reported in China, the storm previously caused eight deaths in the Philippines and injured five people in Okinawa, Japan.
