Hundreds of demonstrators in Manipur's Ukhrul district rallied on November 5, 2026, demanding an end to ethnic violence and the abrogation of the Suspension of Operations pact.
The protest, organized by Tangkhul Naga Long, also called for the removal of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen and the withdrawal of Assam Rifles from Naga-dominated areas.
Since February, ethnic clashes between Kuki and Naga communities have resulted in over 50 deaths and widespread displacement across five districts, compounding earlier violence between Meiteis and Kukis.
