USCIRF Calls for Sanctions Against RSS Ahead of Bhagwat Visit

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) urged the American government to impose sanctions on the RSS and deny diplomatic courtesies to its leaders.

The demand follows an announcement that RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to visit New York on August 29, 2026, for the Universal Oneness Celebrations.

India previously rejected the USCIRF's March 2026 annual report, labeling the body's criticism of the country as selective, distorted, and based on questionable sources.
