Interim Test coach Mike Hesson confirmed he was not involved in the decision to drop senior players Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, and Imam-ul-Haq from the squad.
The Pakistan Cricket Board released the three players before Hesson took charge for the final Test against England, following a series of poor performances and a heavy defeat at Lord’s.
Hesson, who also serves as Pakistan's white-ball coach, stated his current focus is on balancing the red-ball squad by adding variety and bowling all-rounders to the team.
