Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav directed officials on Monday to take disciplinary action against staff absent for extended periods.
The Minister announced that medical certificates issued by private doctors will not be accepted for government employee leave.
Officials were instructed to take action against 493 unauthorisedly absent doctors within a maximum period of three months.
