Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Egypt could potentially join the 'Mecca Pact,' a joint defence agreement signed last Friday by Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan.
The agreement functions as a collective-deterrence provision where an armed attack against one signatory is treated as an attack against all three members.
Erdogan also confirmed he is awaiting the fulfillment of a promise from US President Donald Trump regarding the potential return of Turkiye to the F-35 fighter jet programme.
