Bengaluru-based ophthalmologist Dr Sripriya P cautioned that firecracker burns, blunt trauma, and chemical residue pose severe risks to eyes during Diwali.
First aid recommendations include rinsing affected eyes with clean running water for 10 to 15 minutes and avoiding eye-rubbing.
The expert warned against home treatments such as applying milk or honey, and advised seeking immediate medical attention.
