Over 100 ABVP Workers Detained During Ranchi Student Protest March

Police detained over 100 Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad members on August 11, 2026, as they marched from the old Vidhan Sabha area in Ranchi to protest alleged recruitment examination irregularities.

The detention follows a violent 'Vidhan Sabha gherao' on August 10, 2026, where police used lathis and water cannons against JPSC and JSSC aspirants demanding a CBI inquiry into paper leaks.

The Jharkhand Assembly was adjourned sine die on Tuesday after BJP legislators created a ruckus in the House to protest the police action against the demonstrating students.
