GE Aerospace ships four F404-IN20 engines to HAL for Tejas LCA Mk 1A

GE Aerospace announced the shipment of four F404-IN20 engines to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in September, bringing the total shipments to seven engines over the last two months.

Under a 2021 contract worth ₹48,000 crore, the Ministry of Defence procured 83 Tejas Mk-1A jets, for which GE Aerospace is contracted to deliver 99 engines in total.

While HAL has completed at least 25 airframes, supply delays in engine deliveries have held up aircraft handovers to the Indian Air Force and drawn scrutiny from defense officials.
