Lower Merion School Board Advances New Technology Policy

The Lower Merion school board committee advanced a new technology policy on August 3, 2026, which limits screen time and device usage for students.

Under the proposal, kindergarten through second-grade students will no longer be issued individual devices, and screen time will be restricted to 30-90 minutes for older grades.

The full school board is scheduled to vote on the final policy on August 17, following significant parental protests regarding excessive technology use in classrooms.
