A 28-year-old masked man threw chili powder at bank employees and fled with ₹4.53 lakh in cash from a State Bank of India branch in south Nagpur on Thursday.
Police pursued the suspect, identified as science graduate Suraj Borkar, and apprehended him within 30 minutes with the entire stolen cash recovered.
The suspect told investigators that he committed the robbery due to severe financial distress from being jobless, and police are investigating if he had accomplices.
