The FBI arrested 18-year-old Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud in Minnesota on Tuesday for allegedly planning an ISIS-inspired mass shooting at the Mall of America.
According to court documents, Mohamud procured a Norinco AK-47 rifle and roughly 200 rounds of ammunition after interacting with an undercover FBI agent.
US Attorney Dan Rosen announced the charges against the suspect, while FBI Director Kash Patel stated that the operation successfully prevented a planned attack.
