Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Ajit Kumar Mohanty stated that India's private sector is expected to invest around ₹7.5 lakh crore in nuclear power.
Private players are projected to contribute 30 GW towards the country's target of achieving 100 GW of installed nuclear capacity by 2047.
The policy shift follows the enactment of the SHANTI Act in December 2025, which opened the nuclear sector to broader participation.
