The Indian men’s hockey team defeated Malaysia 5-1 in the final at Kakamigahara on Saturday to defend their Asian Games gold medal and secure a quota for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Captain Harmanpreet Singh opened the scoring with a drag-flick in the 11th minute, followed by goals from Jugraj Singh, Hardik Singh, and Shilanand Lakra.
The victory marked India's 21st gold medal of the Games, sealing a fourth-place finish in the overall medals tally.
